The NSWRA Autumn Rogaine for 2009 was held in near perfect weather at
Nangar National Park, 50km west of Orange.
Rain since January had transformed the camp site from a very unpleasant field
of dry scratchy thistles to a soft bed of green grass neatly mown by the local
roo brigade. The remaining thistles were easily avoided.
The numbers of actual starters in the two event durations were ...
- 12 hour - 116 entrants in 50 teams
- 6 hour - 95 entrants in 38 teams
The map was 1:50000 scale with 20m contours. There were 55
controls with a total points value of 2930.
