2026 Nightgaine -- the Dark Cherry Pyegaine

Nightgaine banner

For your calendar: add the event date & add entries closing reminder

Entries close Monday midnight

Are you a good rogainer?

Daylight is one thing, but at night, everything changes.

Our maps are so accurate these days that rogaining can start to feel a little too easy. In daylight, most experienced rogainers rarely miss a control. But switch off the lights; that’s when the real challenge begins!

Navigating with limited visibility and reduced information is the true test of rogaining skill. The best can still move at up to 85% of their daytime speed. Others? They slow down, miss controls, or lose their way.

So, ready for a night adventure like no other?

The Dark Cherry Pyegaine is coming to Cherrybrook, and entries close tomorrow night – find out how you perform in the dark!

Entries opening soon

We’re going back to Glenbrook for the first time since 2008. The “Gateway to the Mountains” is also a great intro to the sport, as well as a welcome challenge for veterans. The off-track will be a mix of gentle open forest, rock platforms, and bouldery creeks – but also some bushfire regrowth that will fight back against the unwary. The trails themselves will also not disappoint, with some of the most iconic walking trails and lookouts approximately one hour from Sydney.

Highlights include: Lookouts over the Nepean river, Emu Plains, & Mt. Portal; Euroka creek & Glenbrook Causeway; and Red hands cave & stone tool grinding grooves.

2026 Intervarsity Rogaining Championships

The 2026 Intervarsity Rogaining Championships will be held in conjunction with the Australasian Rogaining Championships.

Teams consist of 2-5 students from the same university. Both part-time and full-time students are eligible. There is no age restriction, i.e., under-graduate, mature age and post-graduate students qualify.

Free travel to the event is available thanks to the Nigel Aylott Memorial Sports Foundation for one representative university team from each state/territory. State/Territory Rogaining Associations are responsible for determining their own selection criteria for the travel subsidies, which are paid in cash to each team. For the purposes of the subsidy, preference must be given to under-graduate full time students.
