"Your Guide to Rogaining in NSW"

eNewsletter 40  -  October 2012

G'day Rogainers,

Socialgaine “Blisters for Vistas” 6 hour : 11 November 2012

Online registration has just opened for this event.

Socialgaine 2012 is a 6 hour event on the Central Coast commencing at 9.30am. Just one hour north of Sydney. The controls will be set along the water’s edge, and near cafes as well as on scenic hilltops in the Brisbane Water National Park.

If the sun shines and the temperature rises, we can cool off in the ocean, lick an ice cream, or simply feel the cooling sea-breeze.

This delightful setting offers a wide choice of routes and is suitable for all ages and abilities. It is an ideal event for novices combining a physical challenge with simple navigation. You can cruise or compete.

Surprise yourself with the natural beauty of this unique part of the NSW coast and enjoy the challenge of selecting the best route for your team. Because Socialgaines are meant to be fun!

Spring Rogaine “Wombeyan Wamble” 24 hour & 15 in 24 hour : 6 October 2012

Thanks to Michael Watts and all our volunteers for running a great event!

Results, RouteGadget and photos are now available.

Congratulations to David Baldwin and Julie Quinn who won the Open 24hour category and John & Mardi Barnes who won the Open 15 in 24 hour category.

2013 Rogaining Calendar – are you up for the challenge?

The 2013 Calendar is now up on the website. So make sure you put the dates in your diary.

If you are keen to help out next year take a look at the gaps in the volunteer table and if any event roles take your fancy we'd love to hear from you!  Don't think you are experienced enough?  Don't worry!

We are proposing to run some mini workshops in the New Year on course-setting, event organisation and administration, and there are many experienced people we can put you in contact with.  Plus course-setting, vetting and flag-collecting are great ways to practice your navigation.

Contact Ian Dempsey volunteer@nswrogaining.org or Alexa McAuley at events@nswrogaining.org or give Alexa a call on 0409 516 423 if you have any queries.
