About this rogaine ..

Location:   Swansea area with Hash House at Nesca Park (Bargoed House), 4km south of Swansea

Duration:   This was a 6 hour event with a mass start at 9:30am, finishing at 3:30pm.

Scoring System:   Navlight system was used.

Description:   This was a 6 hour event around the suburban area of Swansea, gateway to beautiful Lake Macquarie and only 75 minutes north of Hornsby. You had the opportunity of admiring spectacular coastal scenery while enjoying the peacefulness and serenity of lakeside locations. The area consisted of a mix of small villages, suburbia, national park and some local history. The hash house was at a picturesque picnic reserve on the shore of Lake Macquarie.

What this event offered ...

  1. The first opportunity to score points in the Rogainer of the Year point score.
  2. The ambiguous (sometimes contentious ) question and answer sheets replaced with NavLight scoring allowing a quick announcement of results.
  3. Experiencing small idyllic villages by the lake.
  4. Exploring a historic and heritage listed coal mining village.
  5. Meeting some of the local wild life – echidnas, goannas, birds etc...
  6. Use of a first class map.
  7. Good course with interesting and spectacular control sites.
  8. Visiting some lovely surfing beaches.
  9. Admiring the beauty of Lake Macquarie.

Who could enter?

Like all NSWRA rogaines, anyone could enter. You had to make up a team of between 2 and 5 people. If you were under 14 years of age on the day of the event you had to have an adult in your team.

By entering this event you became a member of NSW Rogaining Association unless you are already a member of another state rogaining association. Your membership will last for 12 months from the date of this event.


Competition Categories

This event offered the normal age/gender based categories plus the 'Novice" and "Family" category.   See the  " Competition Categories "  page for more details.
