Lake Macquarie 6/12 Hour and NSW Championships

The Lake Macquarie Rogaine, has been run and won! This year it also included the NSW Championships. For the results please go to here...

Congratulations to all the went out to search for orange and white markers (even the elusive 55), take in the views and scramble the lawyer vines.
A big congratulations to those that took the category wins in the NSW Championships (a short 12 hours this year!).

• 1st Overall - Martin Dent and Susie Sprague - 1920

• 2nd Overall - Neil Hawthorne and Mike Hotchkis – 1860

• 3rd Overall - Ronnie Taib and David Williams - 1850

There was 10 points in 2nd and 3rd. Neil and Mike were 10 points ahead of Ronnie and Dave, the reigning NSW Men’s Open Champs which gave them a sweep of trophies (Men’s Open, Veteran and Super Veteran). It looks like Mike and Neil got in some good practice for the World Championships in Finland in a few weeks and of course the Australasian Champs in October!

“Cross-country Capers” Spring Rogaine and… Australasian Rogaining Championships: 10-11 October 2015

NSWRA is hosting the 2015 Australasian Championships!

Entries are now open, and lots of info can be found on the event website.

This event is open to everyone.
You don’t have to stay out on the course for the full 24 hours, the Hash House and All Night Café will be welcoming rogainers all hours, and if 24 hours still seems to long, there is also an 8 hour event.
The organizing team has been busy and the course is set and vet, and there are some photos of the event area on the website to get you excited.

This is also your last chance to pre-qualify for the 2016 World Rogaining Championships that will be held in Alice Springs next year.

The 2015 Intervarsity Championships

The Intervarsity Championships will also be held in conjunction with this event. There are travel subsidies available for intervarsity teams. NSWRA is taking applications for NSW uni teams. Simply write to secretary@nswrogaining.org and tell us why we should choose your uni team to represent NSW.

Volunteers

We have had a great response for volunteers over the past two months. The 2016 Calendar is starting to fill up. If you have been thinking of helping out, take a look at the volunteers table, and let us know what role takes your fancy.

We would love a few keen rogainers to put up their hand. If you are interested contact Dale at volunteers@nswrogaining.org or give Gill a call on 0413 905 551
