When you enter a NSW rogaine event, your team will be placed in one or more
competition categories. Your team will be entered in every category for which it is eligible.
Any team with a child under 14 years of age must also have an adult in the team.
Age & Gender based Categories
For non-championship rogaines, there are four age based classes of competition:
- Open (no age restriction)
- Junior (all team members must be under 18 years of age on the first
day of competition)
- Veteran (all team members must be 40 years of age or over on the
first day of competition)
- Super Veteran (all team members must be 55 years of age or over on
the first day of competition)
For the NSW Championship 24 hour rogaine the age based classes of competition
are:
- Open (no age restriction)
- Under23 (all team members must be under 23 years of age on the first
day of competition)
- Veteran (all team members must be 40 years of age or over on the
first day of competition)
- Super Veteran (all team members must be 55 years of age or over on
the first day of competition)
In addition, for all events, there are three gender categories within each age class:
- Men (all team members must be male)
- Women (all team members must be female)
- Mixed (teams must contain at least one female and one male)
Family Category
NSWRA also usually offers a "Family" category at events. The
team members must all belong to the one family and have at least one parent or
grandparent and one child under 18 years of age on the first day of competition.
Novice Category
Some events offer a Novice category where all team members must never have
previously entered a rogaine.
